Foxwoods Rewards vs. Mohegan Sun Momentum: Comparing Connecticut's Two Tribal Casino Loyalty Programs
Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun sit ten miles apart in southeastern Connecticut, both tribally owned, both drawing the same regional players. Their cards look alike, but tier math and what the points buy diverge enough to cause confusion.
Two Nations, Two Independent Cards
Foxwoods is owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation; Mohegan Sun by the Mohegan Tribe. Each runs its own program with no cross-honoring — a top card at one carries no standing at the other.
How Foxwoods Rewards Sets Tiers
Foxwoods Rewards runs four tiers: Wonder, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Wonder has no minimum; Gold, Platinum and Diamond have required roughly 500, 2,200 and 7,000 tier credits per six-month cycle. Thresholds shift, so confirm current numbers on Foxwoods' site.
How Momentum Club Is Built
Momentum uses five tiers: Core, Ignite, Leap, Ascend and Soar. Core is free at signup; Ignite has required around 400 status points in six months, Soar near 4,000. Each step adds a faster earn rate.
Earning Credits: Slots, Tables and Online
Both track carded slots instantly. Table games rely on a supervisor's estimate, slower and rougher — covered in our piece on how tier credits get calculated. Momentum extends to Mohegan's online casino; Foxwoods stays built around on-property play.
What the Points Buy
Foxwoods Rewards Points convert toward hotel stays, dining, golf, spa visits and select outlet purchases, with higher tiers unlocking bonus days. Momentum Dollars work like store credit at restaurants, shops and shows, but expire after 12 months idle.
Achievement Awards vs. Host Comps
Momentum awards free play or dollars for hitting a status-point goal in one day, collectible at a kiosk within 30 days. Foxwoods leans on host-driven comps instead, with Platinum and Diamond adding daily lounge access — see our guide to how comps get calculated.
Which Card Fits a Regular Visitor
A player splitting trips evenly gets little from chasing status, since nothing transfers and no standing match is publicly offered — the kind of deal covered in our piece on status matches. Pick one resort as a home base instead: Foxwoods suits patience with outlet and golf perks, Momentum suits a player who also games online.
